Thanks to the guys and Vancouver BMW Ducati I was able to spend a couple of days with the new ducati Scrambler earlier this summer. I initially didn’t love the look and styling of this bike, but it’s definitely grown on me since seeing the first photos of it. In person it looks low and light and easy to ride. The seating position upright and comfortable with a large soft seat and high wide handlebars.
After spending a couple days on the Scrambler I have to say that it’s one of the most fun (and basic) riding experiences I’ve had in a long time. The Scrambler is not a fast bike, but it has power where it should and that’s all low down. From a standstill it has loads of torque and although it looks like a beginners bike, I think it would freak most beginner riders out! I reminded me of the dirt bike that I learned to ride on as a kid. Not just in the ring position and styling, but in the amount of joy it brought and how pure and simple a riding experience it is. It’s a super fun bike and one that I would seriously consider owning for ripping around the city. On top of that it’s a Ducati for under $10k!
